Technical Lead | Defense, Security & Justice (DS&J) AI Business Development
Summary
As a junior developer on DS&J’s AI Business Development team, I spearheaded a project to build a GenAI tool that addressed real-world challenges in the defense and justice sectors. Focused on solving actual user needs over flashy features, I collaborated with subject matter experts to identify a critical pain point: time-consuming paperwork.
By adapting an existing GenAI product, we created an MVP that summarized files, generated customizable reports, and answered queries in seconds—freeing staff to focus on high-impact tasks. Through rigorous discovery, synthetic data creation, and clear requirements, we delivered a demo-ready solution in just one week. The tool was so well-received that it progressed to a pilot in AWS GovCloud.
Impact
- Led cross-functional ideation with DS&J SMEs and developers, generating 100+ pages of synthetic/open-source data to build a GenAI MVP that sparked client interest for a pilot in AWS GovCloud.
- Oversaw the transition of one of three DS&J MVPs to AWS infrastructure, ensuring readiness for deployment in a secure client cloud environment.
